DCU Saints 

Swords Basketball Club is an official partner of men's Superleague side DCU Saints.  Under the BBI licencing agreement for all superleague clubs there is an onus on top level sides to reach out to their community for feeder talent.  DCU Saints are based at the University on Collins Ave.  They have also set up similar co-existing arrangements with Tolka Rovers and Club Filipino. 

The idea behind the licencing deal is that players showing high potential can train with the Saints and continue to be members of their feeder clubs up to age 22.  If the prospective talent comes through they get to join the DCU squad.

At present, we have three members of the squad Kevin Lacey, Mike Lacey and Eanna Rutherford. As a partner club we our members enjoy reduced admission to DCU Saints home games.  Like all new arrangements the link up requires continued management and both DCU Saints and ourselves are open to ideas for strengthening our link.
