How do I join Swords Basketball Club?
Answer 1
Our pre season training usually starts straight after our annual summer camp in mid to late August. It's a good idea to enrol in our camp which runs for a week in ALSAA. That way we can meet you and we can talk about your interest in joining. For younger players 7 to 10 we have a beginners group (see seperate question).

How much does it cost to join?
Our fees are set every August and we try as best as we can to keep these from increasing. Inevitably our costs to us do rise but for the current season (2009/10) we are able to keep our basic single member under age fee (i.e. up to and including U20) unchanged at €200. Discounts apply to additional members of the same family. The Senior Men and Women fee is €270.

I want to start playing basketball what do I do?
If you are aged between 7 years and 10 years you are welcome to come and attend our Beginners Group with Eilis at 12.30hrs on Saturday afternoons in Rolestown NS. The session lasts one hour and in it you will learn the basics of basketball. Jamboree games will also be arranged as the season goes along. This is a pay as you play session, the fee is €5. Older players in this group who show sufficient prowess could advance to our first level club teams (i.e. U11 or U12 depending on numbers).
